Gopani’s RO Protect meltblown filter cartridges are manufactured using a proprietary melt-blowing process where virgin polypropylene resin is extruded through precision die nozzles and attenuated by high-velocity hot air to produce ultra-fine microfibers. These fibers are collected on a rotating mandrel and thermally bonded to create a self-supporting, binderless depth filter element.
Unlike conventional uniform-density cartridges, Gopani’s meltblown cartridges feature a true graded-density structure. The outer layers are engineered with a more open fiber arrangement to capture larger particles, while the fiber density progressively increases toward the inner core for fine particle retention. This multi-zone architecture delivers 2 to 3 times the dirt holding capacity of standard PP spun filter cartridges, resulting in longer service intervals and lower total cost of ownership.
Gopani offers five distinct meltblown cartridge filter variants under the RO Protect product family, each engineered for specific application demands:
RO Protect Ultra is the flagship variant offering the widest micron range (1 to 25 micron) with DOE end fittings and standard 10-inch to 40-inch lengths. RO Protect Eco (RECO prefix) covers 1 to 25 micron with DOE configuration and maximum operating temperature of 80 degrees C. RO Protect Eco Plus (RPEP prefix) features 2X dirt holding capacity with 7 end fitting options across 1, 5, and 10 micron ratings. RO Protect Prime delivers premium filtration performance for demanding industrial applications. RO Protect Extreme (RPEX prefix) provides the finest filtration at 0.5 micron with FDA 21 CFR 177 compliance, grooved outer surface option, and weld-free construction for pharmaceutical and food-grade applications.
Claryfil Visco M is a specialty meltblown cartridge designed for high-viscosity fluid filtration applications where standard PP cartridges do not perform optimally.

All Gopani RO Protect meltblown cartridges share these performance characteristics that set them apart from competitors:
Zero Media Migration: The thermal bonding process ensures no fiber shedding or media migration, critical for applications where downstream contamination is unacceptable. Broad Chemical Compatibility: Polypropylene construction provides excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and most organic solvents at concentrations and temperatures within the cartridge’s operating range. No Binders or Surfactants: Pure PP construction with no chemical additives means no extractables that could contaminate your process fluid. Wide Operating Range: Available in micron ratings from 0.5 to 25 micron with maximum operating temperatures up to 80 degrees C depending on the variant selected.
All Gopani meltblown filter cartridges are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility in Ahmedabad, India. Gopani has been manufacturing filtration products since 1993, with exports to over 30 countries worldwide. Select variants meet FDA 21 CFR 177 requirements for food contact applications. Every production batch undergoes rigorous quality testing including bubble point testing, differential pressure measurements, and filtration efficiency validation to ensure consistent performance across every cartridge delivered.

Gopani has the widest range of melt blown cartridge filters designed to solve a wide array of filtration problems. All the filters are thermally moulded and developed using cutting edge fiber technology to deliver high performance and long service life.
The regular melt blown cartridge filters may experience media migration. If not prewashed they can also cause foaming issues. Gopani’s cartridge filters are pre-washed, and they are thermally moulded and developed using cutting edge fiber technology. The layered gradient structure not only imparts higher filtration capabilities and thermal stability but also last remarkably longer compared to the regular run of the mill products. All materials used to construct the cartridge filters are FDA compliant and we have different variants that work well for corrosive liquids, chemicals, some acids and alkaline liquids.
Follow these 5 steps to choose the optimal RO Protect meltblown cartridge for your filtration application
Determine the particle size you need to remove from your process fluid. This defines the micron rating needed. For RO membrane pre-filtration, 5 micron is standard. For pharmaceutical water, 0.5 or 1 micron may be required. For general industrial pre-filtration, 10 to 25 micron is typical. If unsure, Gopani can perform a filtration analysis of your process fluid sample.
Assess your process fluid temperature, chemical composition, and pH level. Polypropylene meltblown cartridges operate up to 60 to 80 degrees C depending on the variant. For temperatures above 80 degrees C, consider alternative media. For aggressive chemicals, verify PP compatibility. The RO Protect Eco and Extreme variants handle up to 80 degrees C; the Eco Plus is rated to 60 degrees C.
Calculate the required flow rate to select the correct cartridge length and quantity. Standard lengths are 10, 20, 30, and 40 inches. Higher flow rates require longer cartridges or multi-cartridge housings. A general guideline for meltblown cartridges is 3 to 5 GPM per 10-inch element for water applications. Gopani's filtration engineers can help size your system for optimal performance.
Match the end fitting configuration to your filter housing. Common options include DOE (Double Open End) for standard housings, 222 flat or fin for Code 7 connections, and 226 flat or fin for bayonet-style housings. The RO Protect Ultra uses DOE fittings, while the Eco Plus and Extreme variants offer up to 7 different end fitting options for maximum housing compatibility.
Based on the above factors, select from Gopani's 5 meltblown cartridge variants: Ultra (best value, widest micron range), Eco (cost-effective DOE solution up to 80 degrees C), Eco Plus (2X dirt capacity with 7 end fittings), Prime (premium performance), or Extreme (FDA-grade, 0.5 micron, weld-free for pharma and food applications).
